We want our campers to have an amazing experience at camp. In addition to the fantastic programming that we’ve developed, there are so many things our campers receive in a week.
Camp Soccer Ball, t-shirt and medal
Every camper receives their very own Royal City soccer ball, camp t-shirt and, at the end of the week, a camp medal. We believe it is important that every child receives these unique items. While they don’t need to wear their camp t-shirt to camp everyday, it is recommended to bring the soccer ball each day. Some campers even like to personalize their t-shirts and soccer balls by getting their friends and staff to sign them. Campers will only receive a 2nd ball and tshirt if they attend 5 or more weeks of camp. Their 2nd ball and shirt will be distributed on their 5th week of participation.
As you may have read or already experienced, we have amazing staff at camp. During the morning soccer focus, our staff teach and supervise their groups in excellent ratios averaging approximately 1 staff to 10 campers or less. The younger campers typically receive a lower ratio during the morning soccer. If your camper is participating in the afternoon swim, these ratios are much lower as we meet or exceed the local pool’s regulations for supervision ratios. A swim test is conducted at the beginning of every week to determine the supervision each camper must receive.
Engaging & Inclusive Instruction
It is very important to our staff that teaching and supervision is inclusive and engaging all week long. All campers will receive approximately 15 hours of soccer instruction each week whether they are in the full day or morning sessions. This instruction may take the form of individual skill development, warm up activities, team building games and mini-Royal Cup tournaments. For campers participating in the full day sessions, there’s a ‘swim’ or ‘non-swim’ option. More details are provided in the Summer Day Camp section. Campers are grouped by age, size and ability where possible.
Families can purchase various Royal City gear either during their online registration process or from the onsite Supervisor. Some Royal City camp gear available to families includes necklaces (over 30 to choose from), hats, spray fans, bracelets, individual training soccer ball, and even a digital photo of your camper and friends.
Supervised Drop off & Pick up
Our morning and full day sessions allow for parent-friendly fully supervised drop off and pick up times. For morning sessions, campers can be dropped off anytime between 8:30 – 9am and picked up from 12 – 12:30pm at no additional cost. For full day sessions, campers can be dropped off anytime between 8:30 – 9am and picked up from 4 – 4:30pm at no additional cost. We also have extended drop off and pick up times for an additional nominal fee…see below.
