We know these are difficult times for all families and individuals as we are all trying to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. At the Royal City Soccer Club, we are closely monitoring the government and health announcements specifically as it relates to our summer camp programs. We have updated our Q&A section below to better inform you on what we are doing and precautions we are taking for all families.
Q: Do you still plan on running summer camp?
A: Yes, we are still planning to run summer camps at this moment. We recognize that return to camp will look different as we implement recommended health and safety protocols to ensure the safety of all campers and staff. As we receive news of camps able to run this summer, we’ll be updating you on any necessary protocols and changes we are implementing.
Q: Can I still register for summer camp considering the uncertainty of the summer?
A: Yes, you can. We understand the summer months are still under a cloud of uncertainty as it pertains to summer camps, however, we still have plans to run camps. If you register now but summer camps cannot run, you will be provided a credit towards future camp sessions or a potential virtual online camp program that is currently in development.
Q: Are you providing refunds if camp is cancelled?
A: If you are registered and paid and camp is cancelled due to COVID-19, we will be providing you a camp credit for future years. In addition to a camp credit, we are currently looking to add several value-added items to your credit as we understand the financial difficulties families are under. Our refund policy does not apply during a time of Force Majeure; an Act of God or circumstances beyond our control (i.e. pandemic, quarantine, natural disaster, etc.). All cancellation requests for current and/or future programs made during the Force Majeure period will be provided with a credit of the full balance paid towards future program registration. Thank you for your understanding.
Q: Can I cancel my registration now?
A: Because our office is currently closed due to COVID-19, we are not processing any cancellations or refunds at this moment. Once restrictions are lifted and our office can open, we’ll review any cancellation requests at that time. As a summer camp provider, we begin our planning in September and incur significant expenses throughout the year for to administration, marketing, utilities, etc. As a result, if we are unable to operate the summer camps, we are unable to recover any of the expenses incurred in planning and preparing for the camp. As a non-profit organization, we will not have the ability to provide refunds, as such, a camp credit is provided. We know that families are enduring financial hardships so we will review certain situations where families have registered and paid for many weeks of camp and may be able to provide a combination refund/credit in those situations. Thank you for your understanding.
Q: What are you doing to keep summer camp safe?
A: Safety is the most important thing at Royal City Soccer Club. Our decisions are made with safety in mind at all turns. We will be taking direction from local government officials, public health and other agencies on group gatherings, cleaning protocols and public hygiene guidelines. Our plans and protocol will continue to develop and adapt as the situation evolves and we will keep you informed on any specific initiatives as we approach summer.
Q: What if summer camp does not run, will you offer virtual/online camps?
A: We are truly hopeful that our regular summer camps will run this summer, however, in the event that we cannot run our regular summer camp program due to COVID-19, we are currently exploring virtual/online camp options…something we like to call ‘Camp at Home’. The details of these virtual online camps have not been finalized, however, we are working on several options for parents/campers to consider that will provide a high level of engagement and activity for your camper. More details on this will be announced soon.
Q: If you offer virtual/online camps, will we be able to transfer our summer camp fee to this service?
A: In the event, we cannot run our summer day camps but offer our ‘Camp at Home’ virtual online camps, then we’ll be looking at ways to transfer the fee you paid for the regular summer camp towards the ‘Camp at Home’. Details are still being worked out.
Q: I have questions, what can I do?
Our office is temporary closed due to the Government’s closure of non-essential services; however, our Customer Service team is working from home, checking emails and voicemails regularly. We will do our best to respond to emails and calls within 24 hours but please have patience during this time in case we can’t reach you sooner than the 24 hour period.
Stay safe & stay home.
